It’s an anthem that arrives just in time to accompany the last nights of summer. On September 3, 2026, DeepFaith unveiled “Holy Holy Lord,” a new single released on Siberia, the Australian independent label founded by Daniel Stricker. This track confirms, if confirmation were still needed, that the duo is one of the most unique projects on the current electronic music scene.
For those just discovering the name: DeepFaith was born from the meeting of DANIAL—aka Daniel Stricker, drummer of the legendary Australian electro trio Midnight Juggernauts, founder of Siberia Records, and collaborator with the likes of Kirin J Callinan, Alex Cameron, Solange, and Kelsey Lu—and Byron Spencer, a multidisciplinary artist renowned for having directed projects for Troye Sivan, Lady Gaga, and Dev Hynes. Formed in 2023, the duo practices what they themselves call “transcendental technoutopianism”: music of expenditure and ecstasy, straddling the line between club, performance, and ritual.
Their career is already far from insignificant: a digital opera presented at the Sydney Opera House, performances for Chanel, a collaboration with Snoop Dogg, shared stages with Jamie xx and The Avalanches, and an American tour opening for Genesis Owusu. These dizzying credentials explain the cult following surrounding each of their releases.
DeepFaith Soars to the Heavens with “Holy Holy Lord”
With “Holy Holy Lord,” DeepFaith pushes their logic of electronic communion even further. Written and composed by the duo alongside producer Matias Tellez, and mastered by British expert Mike Marsh, the track is as much an incantation as a manifesto. The title itself resonates like a litany, repeated until a trance-like state, carried by organic textures and hypnotic beats that remind us that for DeepFaith, the sacred and the dance floor have never been at odds. It embodies the project’s DNA: raw emotion, a sense of unity, and that rare ability to transform a simple single into a moment of collective grace.
This release comes at a particularly prolific time for the Australian duo, following “Y&I” and its acclaimed remix by Breakbot—the French touch icon of Ed Banger Records—”Don’t Know Who My Friends Are,” and “Dolls World.” All these tracks outline a successful, audacious, and frankly addictive first chapter.
At plusfm, we immediately added “Holy Holy Lord” to our playlist: it’s exactly the kind of release that gives meaning to a demanding electronic music program, somewhere between post-punk heritage, refined house, and unapologetic experimentation. Tune in, turn up the volume, and let yourself be carried away by the faith of DeepFaith — the very same one that is danced with arms raised until the end of the night.
