Apparat unveils “Tilth,” a new electronic dive with KÁRYYN

With “Tilth,” Apparat continues his exploration of electronic music that is at once organic, atmospheric, and deeply emotional. Taken from his album A Hum Of Maybe, released on February 20, 2026, by Mute, the track marks the collaboration between Sascha Ring, aka Apparat, and the Armenian-American artist KÁRYYN.

“Tilth” is the fourth track on the album and fits perfectly within the sonic universe developed by Apparat on this new project. Ambient synthesizers, electronic textures, and organic arrangements come together to create an atmosphere that is both ethereal and slightly melancholic. KÁRYYN’s vocals add another dimension to this composition, reinforcing its mysterious and almost cinematic character.

After LP5, released in 2019 and nominated for a Grammy Award, Sascha Ring went through a period of creative self-reflection. To rediscover his songwriting roots, the German musician adopted a remarkably simple method: writing one piece a day, without immediately worrying about whether it was good enough to be released. This approach ultimately allowed Apparat to gradually build A Hum Of Maybe.

The new album plays on contrasts, between electronic levitation, acoustic instruments, and more intense moments. Apparat collaborated with musician and producer Philipp Johann Thimm, who contributed to the songwriting and played cello, piano, and guitar. This combination of electronic production and classical instrumentation gives the album a unique richness.

On “Tilth,” this approach takes on a particularly captivating dimension. The synthesizers at times evoke the scale of Moderat’s productions, the project Sascha Ring shares with Gernot Bronsert and Sebastian Szary, while maintaining a much more intimate identity.

With “Tilth,” Apparat delivers an elegant and immersive track, somewhere between electronica, ambient, and electronic pop, ideal for those who appreciate songs that take their time to create a truly atmospheric sound.
